Dustin Richter is an Associate Professor with Tenure of orthopedic surgery sports medicine at the University of New Mexico, Director of the sports medicine fellowship program, and Vice Chair of research. He completed his residency training at the University of New Mexico (2015) and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia (2016). He has over 80 peer reviewed publications and 25 book chapters. His main clinical interests include knee dislocations and multi-ligament knee reconstruction as well as hip arthroscopy. He was selected for the 2023 AOSSM/APKASS traveling fellowship, is on the Board of Directors and Secretary of the International Knee Dislocation Study Group, and completed the AOSSM BOLD (Boosting Orthopaedic Leaders’ Development) program (2025).
