Evan E. Vellios M.D. is an orthopedic Sport Medicine and shoulder surgeon at the Souther California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Los Angeles California. Dr. Vellios was born and raised in Los Angeles and attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree where he graduated magna cum laude as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He attended medical school at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA where he graduated amongst the top in his class and was selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Vellios then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA Medical Center where he was selected as administrative Chief Resident by his peers and faculty mentors. Dr. Vellios then completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City. Dr. Vellios has been practicing at SCOI for the past 5 years where he focuses on sports related injuries of the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is the team physician for numerous local high schools and is actively involved in subspeciality societies such as AOSSM, AANA and ASES.
