Cleveland Clinic
Dr. Scarcella is a sports medicine surgeon at Cleveland Clinic specializing in pathology of the shoulder, hip, and knee. Prior to returning to Cleveland, Dr. Scarcella served four years in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and Orthopaedic Surgeon where he earned several honors during his time in service including, Achievement award for overall military readiness, Navy Achievement Medal in support of operation in Afghanistan, and Navy Commendation Medal for process improvements.
Dr. Scarcella is a team physician for the NBA G-League Cleveland Charge, team physician for the Cleveland Guardians, assistant team physician Cleveland Cavaliers, and team physician for Cleveland State University. He is also the Head Team Physician for St. Edward High School and Avon Lake High School.
Dr. Scarcella's clinical area of interests includes shoulder, hip, and knee. He has authored several book chapters on shoulder instability, as well as manuscripts and presentations on shoulder labrum pathology, anterior cruciate ligament, and femoroacetabular impingement. He is part of several multi center studies evaluating outcomes in ACL reconstruction.
