Dr. Robert L. Parisien, a Board Certified Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon and Associate Professor at Mount Sinai in New York City, specializes in Sports Medicine, Comprehensive Joint Preservation and Minimally Invasive Arthroscopic Surgery of the Shoulder, Hip and Knee. Dr. Parisien serves as a Team Physician for the US Ski & Snowboard and USA Fencing teams and previously provided court-side care as a Player Physician at the US Open Tennis Championships in NYC.
Dr. Parisien is triple Fellowship trained having completed specialized training in Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Sports Medicine & Cartilage Regeneration at the University of Pennsylvania and Sports Medicine & Complex Shoulder Surgery at Boston University. The American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) selected Dr. Parisien as one of only five Orthopaedic Surgeons in the United States and Canada for the North American Traveling Fellowship (NATF). Dr. Parisien was also one of only four Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgeons selected for the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) Traveling Fellowship, considered one of the most prestigious clinical and academic honors in the field of Arthroscopic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
Dr. Parisien has published over 200 scientific manuscripts, reviews and book chapters and his research has been presented at over 200 national and regional orthopaedic meetings. In recognition of his research, Dr. Parisien has been the recipient of the Margulis Award for Scientific Excellence, OSET Basic Science Research Award, Kilfoyle Research Award, Arciero-Warner Research Award, American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Research Award in Sports Medicine, Eastern Orthopaedic Association Research Award, New England Orthopaedic Society Research Award, EOEF Anil S. Ranawat M.D. Donor Grant Award, Massachusetts Orthopaedic Association Research Award, Orthopaedic Surgery Evolving Techniques (OSET) Basic Science Paper Award and recognized as a Clinician Scholar by the Orthopaedic Research Society.
