Dr. Christopher Camp is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Mayo Clinic. He attended Lee University for his undergraduate studies, majored in Biological Sciences, played baseball, and graduated summa cum laude. He attended medical school and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He completed clinical and research fellowships in Sports Medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City where he also worked with the New York Mets Baseball Club. Now, he is a sports medicine surgeon at Mayo Clinic where he serves as the Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship Director, the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Associate Program Director, Gap Year Research Program Director, and Director of the Orthopedic Resident Leadership Principles Curriculum. His surgical practice focuses on treatment of shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries in athletes of all ages and ability levels from youth athletes to the professional level. He is currently the Medical Director, Team Orthopedic Surgeon, and Director of High Performance for the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club. He is also a Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the Minnesota Lynx WNBA team. He is the Creator and the Host of the “Mayo Clinic Human Optimization Project” podcast and curriculum (ce.mayo.edu/optimize) where he is working to “help as many people as possible become the best humans they can be.” He has delivered over 100 talks, presentations, and invited lectures. He has authored over 300 research articles, chapters, and books focused on injury prevention, interventions, and helping people achieve their highest levels of performance.
