Professor Pietro S. Randelli is the Chairman of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic at the Gaetano Pini
Orthopedic Institute in Milan, Italy. He also serves as the Scientific Director of the same Institute.
Additionally, he is affiliated with the University of Milan. He is the Chairman of the residency program at the same university,
overseeing the training of 180 medical residents over a 5 years period.
In 2015, he was appointed Full Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the
University of Milan.
Currently, Prof. Randelli is the President of the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology
(SIOT) and executive board member of ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee
Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine)
The 1st Orthopedic Clinic at the Gaetano Pini Orthopedic Institute in Milan under his leadership has
been recognized as an official teaching center by several prestigious organizations, including
ISAKOS, SECEC, and ESSKA.
Prof. Randelli has personally performed over 8,000 surgical procedures, specializing in hip,
knee, and shoulder prostheses, as well as arthroscopic procedures and sports traumatology.
He has an extensive academic presence, having participated as a speaker in more than 500
international and national conferences. Furthermore, he has published over 400 scientific articles
and contributed to numerous books and book chapters.
Beyond his academic and surgical roles, Prof. Randelli has actively served as president, chairman,
and executive board member of various orthopedic associations, including SIAGASCOT, ESSKA
and ISAKOS. His contributions have earned him honorary membership in the AOSSM (American
Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine) since 2005.
He will serve as the Chair of the Scientific Program for the ISAKOS 2027 Congress.
Prof. Randelli is editorial board member for several journals, including KSSTA, OJSM,
EFORT Orthopedics Today, Joints, and the Journal of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
Additionally, he has been a reviewer for over 20 years for AJSM.
