Dr. Akira Tsujii was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. He graduated from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in 2007. In 2012, he completed his residency and entered the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Osaka, where he conducted basic research in the Department of Biochemistry. After earning his Ph.D., he participated in the fellowship program of the University of Osaka at Yao Municipal Hospital (2016–2017) and Hoshigaoka Medical Center (2017–2020). In 2025, he joined the JKS (Japanese Knee Society)–Meniscus Fellowship, which included training in Paris, Antwerp/Brussel, Luxembourg, and Berlin in the first part (January 2025), and Korea/Japan in the second part (December 2025).
He joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Osaka in 2020 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries, particularly those involving the knee.
Dr. Tsujii has published numerous papers in internationally recognized orthopedic journals, focusing primarily on knee surgery.
