Dr. Robert “Robby” Westermann is an Associate Professor and Team Physician at the University of Iowa. He treats athletic related injuries to the hip, knee and shoulder. Dr. Westermann received his Medical Degree from the University of Washington. He went on to complete his residency at the University of Iowa and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He received advanced training in Hip Arthroscopy via the ANCHOR Career Development Award at Washington University in St. Louis, University of Michigan, and Minneapolis MN. He is involved in basic science research on cartilage biology and biomechanics as well as multi-center clinical outcomes research with the ANCHOR (hip), MOON (knee, shoulder), Jupiter (knee) group and PIKASO (knee, ACL) groups.
