ANDREW W. KUHN, M.D. is a board-eligible orthopaedic sports medicine fellow at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2020 and completed his orthopaedic surgical training at Washington University in St. Louis in 2025, where he served as the administrative chief resident during his final year. His clinical and research interests include general sports medicine, pediatric/adolescent orthopaedic sports medicine, and complex knee surgery. During his surgical residency, he had the opportunity to complete an international sports medicine and knee fellowship at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg in Luxembourg.
As a trainee, Kuhn covered high school through professional sports teams, including the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche (NHL), under the tutelage of his mentors. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications. His work has been presented both nationally and internationally and he has won numerous awards related to his dedication to sports medicine and research including the Galen Society Medical Student Scholarship Award in 2019 from the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and the Herodicus Society Award from the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM) in 2025. In 2023, he was selected for a 2-year “observership” position on the National Football League (NFL) Musculoskeletal Committee. He is a fellow member of the AOSSM and was also chosen for the Resident Leadership Forum and Emerging Leaders Program through the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
