Subchondral pathology is increasingly recognized as an important driver of knee pain, yet diagnosis and treatment remain challenging. This educational session will explore the evolving understanding of subchondral bone pathology, including the relationship between bone marrow edema, meniscal root injuries, and subchondral insufficiency fractures. The correlation with osteoarthritis and its natural history will be discussed highlighting the best available evidence. Faculty will discuss patient evaluation, imaging findings, treatment considerations, and emerging strategies aimed at addressing the underlying source of pain while preserving the native knee.
