Dr. Brian J. Cole, MD, MBA, currently serves as Acting Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Professor of Orthopaedics, Anatomy, and Cell Biology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. In addition, he is the Managing Partner of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Section Head of the Cartilage Research and Restoration Center. He is a renowned orthopedic sports medicine surgeon with expertise in the treatment of sports-related injuries and the use of orthobiologics for the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Dr. Cole is the team physician for the Chicago Bulls, co-team physician for the Chicago White Sox, and also serves as team physician for the Chicago Red Stars, Chicago Dogs, and DePaul University. He was honored as the NBA Team Physician of the Year in 2009 and served as President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America in 2020. He is also the founder and director of the annual Chicago Sports Summit and hosts the Sports Medicine Weekly podcast.
Consistently recognized among the “Best Doctors in America” since 2004 and named a “Top Doctor” in Chicagoland since 2003, Dr. Cole has authored more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications and 30 textbooks, and has delivered over 2,000 lectures around the world.
